Winter care
|
When winter brings cold temperatures and low humidity, our skin and hair respond. In the morning, hair sticks out and is more unruly. The scalp and skin feel tighter after cleansing. Static electricity makes hair stand on end and both scalp and skin tend to flake. Our hands, elbows and feet feel rougher. Dry, overheated rooms, synthetic fibers and the wind all amplify these conditions. The rule of thumb: release static, retain moisture, minimize friction.

- Tip
- The hair benefits from regular brushing. A natural boar bristle brush is best because it causes less static than a nylon brush, keeps the cuticle layer smooth, brings out the hair's volume and promotes better scalp circulation.
- CLEANSE
- The moisture-binding ability of MC shampoo or G shampoo makes them outstanding anti-static shampoos. If static is hard to control, try AS shampoo as a second shampoo. It's the best static fighter.
- TONE
- To re-establish the natural pH balance, moisture and antiseptic qualities, apply Balance scalp lotion. For a tailor-made lotion, consult with an ÆSTELANCE Specialist to add Aromazones suited to your scalp condition.
- MOISTURIZE
- Use Hydrate, Revitalize or Balm on a daily basis-a must for winter care. Pamper your hair and scalp with Mud mask, the instant moisturizing treatment based on Dead Sea mud and minerals, botanicals and essential oils. An Oil complex treatment greatly increases the hair and scalp's ability to retain moisture.
- DESIGN
- Avoid styling products which tend to dry out the hair. Hair cream on dry hair tames static and adds great sheen. Aromatic lotion fights static by moisturizing the scalp and hair. Apply to scalp after every shampoo to prevent flaking and a tight feeling. Use it on the hair for static control, better manageability and sheen. A light spritz settles hard-to-control hair. Trigel, Foam and Hydrogel give more control without a drying effect.
