Split ends

Hair has a cuticle layer which protects and acts as a shell for holding the hair's inner protein structures, the cortex and medulla. When the cuticle has been stressed through chemical services, demanding styling techniques or aggressive ingredients in products, it may degenerate and expose the inner protein structures. Over time, these flaws can lead to larger areas of deterioration with the individual protein fibers separating and developing the "forked" look of split ends.

Tip
The best remedy is to have your hair cut on a regular basis (about every 6-8 weeks) until the ends are healthy again. Then practice an ÆSTELANCE preventative care plan to provide a balanced mix of protein, lipids and moisture.
CLEANSE
Consult with an ÆSTELANCE Specialist to determine the shampoo most-suited for your scalp and hair condition. Before shampooing, wet the hair and apply Protein mask, Balm or Hydrate to the ends.
TONE
To re-establish the natural pH balance, moisture and antiseptic qualities, apply Balance scalp lotion. For a tailor-made lotion, consult with an ÆSTELANCE Specialist to add Aromazones suited to your scalp condition.
MOISTURIZE
Condition once a week for 10-15 minutes with either Protein mask for protein, lipid, and moisture improvement or Mud mask for moisture improvement. Apply Energy after every shampoo to strengthen fragile, limp hair. For daily moisture, apply Balm or Revitalize. For finer hair use Hydrate. Get an ÆSTELANCE intensive salon treatment once a month.
DESIGN
Foam not only gives more fullness but also strengthens and conditions. For extra protection on medium to coarse hair, use Hair cream. For all types of hair, Lustre adds high gloss.
