Dry scalp and hair

How it is caused: The under-functioning of the sebaceous glands may be one of the causes. In such cases, the skin feels dry and the scalp feels tight and slightly itchy. The hair may also have a lot of static. In cases of extreme dryness, the hair becomes finer and more brittle. NOTE: Overexposure to the sun and the elements, improper care products, overly-hot blow-dryers, curling irons, hot rollers, and chemical services can lead to dryness. In such cases the scalp may be normal, only the hair is dry. Often, if hair is lacking lipids, it can't retain moisture. A remedy should aim at both.

How it is treated: Always use mild shampoos enriched with lipids and moisturizing elements specifically suited to dry hair. Use a toner tailored to stimulate, activate and strengthen scalp functions. Targeted hair treatments compensate for the scalp's inability to provide protective substances to the hair.

Tip
Avoid heat from dryers, electric rollers and curling irons. Be sure to protect the hair from the damaging effects of the sun. Trim the ends regularly since dry hair tends to split at the ends more easily. Treatments in the salon and at home do wonders.
CLEANSE
Choose from the following: D shampoo for dry scalp and medium to coarse hair, DF shampoo for dry scalp and fine, limp hair, MC shampoo for dehydrated (dry) scalp and all textures of hair.
TONE
Balance scalp lotion helps to maintain better moisture levels and counteracts itching and scaling. Add Aromazones #1 and #2 essential oils to activate and strengthen scalp functions.
MOISTURIZE
For scalp and hair lacking oil, Oil complex has the best results. For the hair, Protein mask is an instant remedy. For dehydrated scalp, Mud mask provides a moisture boost. Leave-in-conditioners Balm and Hydrate always give quick relief. An intensive in salon treatment with Dermyl cream will make the scalp feel much better.
DESIGN
ÆSTELANCE Design products such as Trigel, Hydrogel or Foam are all alcohol-free and give excellent hold without drying the hair. Finishing with Hair cream, Lustre and Butter adds extra sheen, protection from the sun and prevents drying.
